Inspiration... please!!

I'm in the bedroom with my laptop in... well, my lap. I'm staring at the blank screen, waiting for that burst of inspiration. My trusty writing companions (they go in shifts) are our German Shephard/Irish Setter 2 year old dog, Tucker, that wishes to protect me from just about anything including my husband.... use your imagination.. then there's our kittie cat, Spot, which would like to take it upon her personal pleasure to tear Tuck.... something new!

Right now my companion is Spot who is presently taking a very meticulous bath while I am nibbling on sunflower seeds still staring at the same screen.

Yes, I'm a nibbler. I can nibble an un-hulled sunflower seed into 3-4 bites. I can do the same with popcorn and dry roasted peanuts... and don't even get me started with brazil nuts... that could almost be a meal in itself! Tonight I've told myself that nibbling on this salty goodness would help my concentration.

I have now been joined by Tucker who has rested both front paws and chin on my leg while Spot decides to declare war on his tail which fell across her face as he lay down. It is really cute to see a five pound cat to try to wage war on a 90 pound dog.... and he barely knows she's there.

Ah concentration...then again creativity! Where are you?

My fuzzy companions have again changed shifts. The dog decided he needed to go outside to do his doggie duties, then come inside to eat what bit of dinner he hadn't eaten before. The cat had decided to milk what warmth still came from the furnace vent before playing with whatever chuncks Tuck spilled over the side of his bowl while eating the last of his dinner.

Sleepiness is now fuzzing over my brain not to mention my body. My furry hot water bottles have joined me once more and I am going to settle down and reboot my brain with a good nights sleep and see if see if I can, tomorrow, trap that elusive creative mind and keep it captive long enough to at least get a story line down. Tuck cuddles up next to me and belches in my face while the cat lets out a large squeal as Tuckie rolls on top of her.

Aahh... I love the sounds of our simple life.
