Mother Nature Strikes Again

Yesterday morning our starshine began to diminish due to a thick dark cloud front coming in from the southwest. Oh great!! Woohoo, we're finally going to get some rain! Contented, we went through our day with delicate scattered sprinkles, knowing that what little veggies survived the latest freezes will be happy little campers.

In the evening, the rain increased to a heavy but pleasant patter lulling us into a deep sound sleep.

In the middle of the night, we woke up to our trailer shuddering against brutal winds that sounded like thunder. I got up for a drink of water, and to check on our tent room. Returning to bed I told hubbie that it was ok...... jinx!! It was about ten minutes later, we heard the sickening crunch of metal, bolting us both out of bed. Yup.... tent room no longer there. The storm was too strong, it was still raining hard, not to mention pitch black, so at this point all we could to was go back to bed, lay awake, listen to the wind beat up the trailer, knowing what we were going to have to face in the morning. The really strong, loud gusts elicited a squeaky terrified squeal from me upon occasion.

This is the next morning, and it is a beautiful sunny day with crispy, still air. We go outside to review the carnage. It was like a tornado hit! Our twenty foot tent room was lifted and rotated 180 degrees before being deposited in the back of our site.

We have our work cut out for us. We are now off to the hardware store, then we'll start of the salvage. Stay tuned!
