Spring! I think it's here!!

There have been many signs... the horizon lights up a bit earlier now, and the rose bushes are taking on a red beaded look with all the new buds.

Then just yesterday morning I heard the first of the season, cry of the peacock. We have several in our neighborhood. In early morning, I heard one behind our site, then another in the distance in front of our site answering the call. Mating season has begun I thinks.

Our garden beds have begun to sprout new life as well. In a previous post there were the winter survivors. Now we have our perennials which are peppermint and spearmint so far which are stretching their little leaves out of the ground and saying howdy.

Another fun thing is seeing the volunteer sunflowers from last year. As the birds picked at the sunflower heads in the fall of last year, seeds would fall to the ground and now here in this year's spring, we already have sprouts an inch high. This is so fun!! I'm getting ready... this is one of my favorite times of the year. We're getting ready for planting season. Woohoo!!
