A simple life is almost vogue... so many people are doing it (hubbie and myself included).
Please forgive the tongue in cheek. It's an unfortunate sign of the times. For some it's a choice in lifestyle. For many others, reality has forced learning the ways of the simple life.
Within the monetary boundaries of a simple life we must learn new ways of enjoying simple pleasures. It takes some practice, but soon your newly trained eyes and open mind will be able to spot those simple pleasures which have been in front of you all along.
